I too was the victim of a "still" non-reported Baptist predator. My perpetrator is in his early 80s now and has had ample opportunity to sample and ruin who knows how many young girls in his charge.

As the head deacon of his Baptist Church (a member of the SBC), this man was entrusted for years with the 9 year old girls' Sunday School class.   As the head deacon of this Baptist Church, he did indeed abuse me, his granddaughter, in the church basement when we were supposed to be going to get some "supplies" for the class. I was 7 yrs old.  

This man was never reported because he used his position in the church and in the community to terrorize us, his victims. He told us (me and other female relatives) that no one would believe us, a bunch of "stupid little kids," over him, the "head deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church."  

In the 1990s he was ironically elected by some civic organization, as "father of the year." I could have puked.  

No one cares why half his family won't speak to him or let him around their female children. No one in the town has bothered to figure out why one of his own daughter's best friends' little sister, became a centerfold in Playboy Magazine. No one has bothered to question the fact that he's "a little odd" around little girls.  

When will they begin to question? When will this monster be STOPPED?  

MY statute of limitations has run out.

Recently, I tried to report him to the state Southern Baptist convention in the state where his church is. They sent me a nonchalant blow-off of an email. Basically, they were not interested in this story or in getting this active predator out of their church.  

Is there ANYONE who will listen? Is there ANYONE who will keep this monster away from the girls in his church?
