People in Leary, Texas are buzzing over the news of Franklin Wray's arrest.  Wray was superintendent of schools there for nearly twenty years.  Bowie County sheriff's investigators say Wray had inappropriate physical contact with an underage male.  He's charged with indecency with a minor by contact.  The maximum sentence is 20 years in the state pen.

Former students of Wray tell NBC 6 they can't believe it.  Cassandra Marin says she remembers Wray as a good principal.  Others we talked to say if true, it further erodes the trust people have in those with authority over children.

Wray is also a former music minister at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He's also pastored several churches in Northeast Texas.  Wray is free on $40,000 bond.  Detectives want anyone with information in this case to call the sheriff's office at 903-798-3149. (with video)

SNAP Note: Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas is a church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Franklin Wray is also listed here as having been a music minister at Pleasant Oaks Baptist Church in Texarkana.
