One of the young girls a 65-year-old Odem man is accused of molesting burst into tears on Thursday when asked to talk about the man during his trial.

Stephen Douglas Livingston, who is on trial for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact in Nueces County, is charged with inappropriately touching a 6-year-old girl on May 11 that he had taken on a church movie outing to Five Points Cinema in Corpus Christi. The girl, now 7, has said Livingston assaulted her while she sat on his lap while watching a movie.

On Thursday, another 7-year-old girl testified he touched her several times during visits to her house while she sat on his lap but that she was scared to tell her grandmother.

"I was too scared I'd get in trouble," the girl said, wiping away tears and sniffling.

Livingston also faces other charges of indecency with a child by contact, possession of child pornography and inappropriate photography in San Patricio County.

Prosecutors said he took advantage of his time with children as a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sinton. He also was a deacon, taught Sunday school classes and volunteered with the van ministry, which transported children and adults to church.

Defense attorney Randy Mack has said the young girls may have been led to falsely accuse Livingston.

Rhonda Rosenauer, a church member, testified for the defense that one of the young girls was often dishonest and that she sat near Livingston at the movie that day and saw no inappropriate behavior.

Prosecutor Anna Jimenez then showed Rosenauer, a kindergarten teacher, some of the journals found on Livingston's computer that detailed encounters with the young girls, which Rosenauer dismissed as fantasy.

The trial will resume at 8 a.m. today in 214th District Judge Jose Longoria's court.
