Ex-Pastor Pleads Guilty To Molesting Young Girl

William Alan Malgren is being flown back to Southern California on charges he molested a girl at Thousand Oaks Baptist Church during the 1980s.

(CBS) THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. A former Thousand Oaks pastor has pleaded guilty to molesting a student at a church-run school over a seven-year period in the 1980s.

William Alan Malgren was arrested in Idaho earlier this month for sexually assaulting the girl from 1983 to 1989.

At the time, Malgren was a pastor at the Thousand Oaks Baptist Church school and the girl -- now a woman in her 30s -- was a student there.

Detectives said Malgren was asked to leave the church in 1989 after someone reported him acting inappropriately with the girl.

Authorities said the woman came forward with her story within the last month. Malgren, now 52, had been pastor at an Idaho church for a decade when he was arrested Oct. 4.

Detectives said other possible victims have phoned the Sheriff's Department since Malgren's arrest.

Ex-Thousand Oaks Pastor Arrested In Child Sex Case

(AP) THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. A pastor is being flown to the Ventura County jail Thursday night after being arrested in Idaho on charges he repeatedly sexually abused a girl in the 1980s.

William Alan Malgren is now a pastor at a Moscow, Idaho, church -- but in the 1980s he was a pastor at Thousands Oaks Baptist Church.

Ventura County sheriff's detectives say from 1983 to 1989, the now 52-year-old man molested a little girl from Thousand Oaks Baptist School.

Detectives say the abuse started when the girl was seven and continued until she was 14.

A few weeks ago, the girl, now an adult, reported to authorities she had been abused.

Malgren was arrested Wednesday, and after waiving extradition, is being flown to Southern California.

Detectives are now investigating the possibility there may be more victims.
