A former member of the Windsor School District School Board has been sentenced to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a teen-age boy earlier this year.
The former board member, George Hendon, pleaded guilty last month in Jefferson County Circuit Court to touching the youth's genitals. In exchange for the plea, county prosecutors agreed to recommend five years in prison instead of the maximum seven years.
Judge Philip G. Hess accepted the terms of the agreement and sentenced Hendon on Monday.
Hendon was in his first term on the School Board when the assault occurred in March at Hendon's home, in the Barnhart area. he resigned from the baord shortly after he was charged.
SNAP Note: George Hendon is also reported to have been the chairman of the deacons at a suburban Southern Baptist church in St. Louis, Missouri.
